a canary token is an intrusion detection tool that anyone could utilize anywhere anytime and any place. By implementing a canary token inside your system whether it could a server computer, tablet etc. it will mean that you will know if you have been hacked as a canary token is like a honeypot that could be anything such as files,folers or even QR codes. Not only it has the capability to detect if someone has touched a file scanned a QR code etc. but it sends specific details on what time it happened so you can backtrack and see the logs or any details if you have been hacked or someone with unauthorized access has your password and want to open and steal your files
firstly you would want to navigate to the official page of the website and click on what trap you will select, for this tutorial i will be using a word document to make as a honey pot for my device

when selecting the file or alert you would want place in your system you will need to input an email address n this case i will be using my personal email address so it alerts me when someone clicks on the Microsoft word file
